Kondagaon district was formed on January 1, 2012. In total 368 783 hectares, is spread across the entire Kondagaon district and the population of the district is 578 326. The district is bounded by Kanker and Dhamtari in the north, Bastar, Narayanpur districts in east and Dantewada district in the south touches. The district is divided into 2 revenue subdivisions and 5 tehsils for administartive reasons. The places of tourist interests in the distritcs are Kopabedha Shiva Temple, Mulmula, Bdehdongr, Alor, Tatamari, Bhongapal, and Jatayu rock.
