Baloda Bazar town is the headquarters of Baloda Bazar district. Before its creation, it was part of Raipur district. Baloda Bazaar is called Cement hub of Chhattisgarh because there are many reputed Cement Plants. The adjacent districts of Balodabazar-Bhatapara are Bemetara, Mungeli , Bilaspur, Janjgir-Champa, Raigarh, Mahasamund and Raipur. The district has six tehsils and the total area is 269 888 hectares. Bari is a major crop in the district. Most people in the district are dependent on agriculture. The place sof tourist interest in the districts are In Ksdol Barnawapara sanctuary, Turturia (Balimki ashram), Satnam sect innovator in Girudpuri Ghasidas birth of land and on the high Jatkmb from Qutb Minar, the birth land of freedom fighter Veer Narayan Singh, Sonakhan, Plari Balsmund the edge of the pond Mahadev sidhdheshvar Temple, Reaper in Changori Pasr Sivanath, the confluence of rivers Mahanadi and Leelagr, Simga in Somnath Sivanath and Kharun Snganm.
