About District

The district of Hazaribag is situated in the north east part of North Chotanagpur Division. The boundary of this district consists of districts of Gaya and Koderma in the north, Giridih and Bokaro in the east, Ranchi in the south and Palamu and Chatra in the west. The district consist of two subdivisions namely Sadar & Barhi. There are Sixteen development blocks and 15 Revenue Circles in the District. As per the Census 2011, Hazaribagh district had population of 1,734,005 of which male and female were 891,179 and 842,826 respectively. There are several ores and minerals in the naturally rich and beautiful district of Hazaribag. Mica and Coal are the main minerals. The main rivers of this district are Damodar and Barakar. About 45% area of this district is forest area. The forest area of this district is full of medicinal plants and trees.The important places to visit in the district are Narsigsthan Temple, Surajkund, National Park, Raj Derwah, Canary Hill, Hazaribag Lake & Swarna Jayanti Cum Entertainment Park, Silwar Hill, and Konar Dam.
